KALEIDOSCOPE MIRROR MAZE - LIGHTING SYSTEM

DESIGN: All self-designed and constructed using prototype stripboards fitted underneath maze floor.

POWER: 12 Volts DC (direct current).

POWER SOURCE: Switched Mode Power Supply, 2.5 Amps DC max @ 12V.

NUMBER OF FLASHING CIRCUITS: Three.

DEVICES USED PER CIRCUIT: 555/556 Timers, 74393 8-bit Counter & 7400 NAND Logic Chips.
All IC (Integrated Circuit) chips are powered from +5 Volt regulators.

OUTPUT CIRCUITS: All outputs drive the LED (Light Emmitted Diode) networks via
2N222A transisters used to carry moderate current loads.

L.E.D. NETWORKS: Range from 2 to 4 LED's in series (2 Volts for red & yellow, 3.6 Volt blue & white).
All LED networks light @ 10mA (0.01 Amps) from 12 Volts, resisters fitted in series to limit current to 10-20mA.

WIRE: Mixture of single-strand Bell wire & 16/0.7 gauge wire.

SUPPLIER SOURCES: Rapids Electronics & Maplin Electronics
